Micklefield Hall wedding – Anya and Alex

I had the pleasure to photograph the wedding of Anya and Alex at Micklefield Hall in Hertforshire earlier this year in June. It was a scorcher of a day at about 30 degrees. Mickefield Hall is an impressive wedding venue with an array of areas to host your day. From the award winning restored 16th Century Tithe Barn to the extensive gardens with numerous features including formal gardens, terrace, the huge lawn (with views to die for) and the beautiful pond and temple where the ceremony took place.

I began my day early meeting up with Anya as she and her sister, mum and cousins were getting ready. The talented Hannah from award winning Hannah’s Make Up was hard at work making everyone look amazing. Anya’s friend Helen Godfrey was finishing off her gorgeous flower arrangements. Micklefield Hall has a new spacious bridal changing room so there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere during the bridal prep.

I was lucky enough to be joined later that morning by photographer Anita Barratt, who I very much admire, her work is amazing. It was great to have her there helping to capture all the moments from a different perspective. She started off meeting up with Alex (trying not to look too nervous) and his best men, taking in the incredible views of the countryside.

Then it was time for the ceremony, overlooking the picturesque pond. Anya’s mum Veronique read a wonderful poem she had written. Once Anya and Alex were officially Mr and Mrs it was time to relax and celebrate. I loved that they chose to have bubbles instead of confetti. It was such a fun idea! Then the guest were able to congratulate the happy couple and everyone enjoyed the rest of the day. Although there was some wincing during the best mens’ speeches!

Cambridgeshire wedding – Anstey Hall

I had a wonderful day photographing the wedding of Liz and Tim at Trumpington Church and Anstey Hall in Cambridgeshire. It was a joyous occasion!

“We made such a great choice by asking Abby to be the photographer for our wedding. She is hardworking, friendly and totally unobstrusive; it felt like Abby was one of the guests, and the photographs reflect her laidback approach while maintaining a fantastically high quality. We would not hesitate to recommend Abby to friends, family or anybody else who would listen!”

A winter wedding in Richmond – The Bingham

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely couple’s wedding at The Bingham Hotel in Richmond, Surrey. You’d never have know it was the middle of February, it was beautifully warm, sunny and springlike.

There were nearly as many children at the wedding as grown ups, it made for a very fun filled day! Thanks to the super tent and fantastic entertainers from The Little Top the children were kept busy all day leaving the adults enjoy themselves too.

The beautiful bouquet was by local florist Amanda’s Flowers.

The views over the river Thames were stunning and the passers by all loved seeing the happy couple!

Weddings

The best way to remember it will be with a stunning set of photos. You’ll want the images to reflect the emotion, happiness and grandeur of the day. Having a photographer who is relaxed and professional means you can get on with enjoying your day while those memories are being captured.

Portraits

Most people take great snaps of their kids on their phones, yet gathering all the family together in a single frame, or taking the time to get some really gorgeous photos of your children isn’t easy. You need to act fast or the moment is gone. Having those defining shots that you can keep forever, and look back on when they have flown the nest is very important.
